First time I got close to there I could hear them all long before entering so I quickly retreated.
It's interesting when you do come back there but... spoilers.

Meanwhile Geralt is overencumbered but it doesn't matter cos Roach can help him gallop quickly across the landscape. Onwards now through all these trees. The map says that the monster nest is just a bit further so just keep on riding and-
STOP RIGHTTHERE, ROACH!!!!

 

Thankfully Roach's brakes were working well enough on this occasion.
There were quite a lot of scary vertical drops around here and getting to this monster nest is proving tricky.

And no, I never went through Labyrinthian. I took out one troll, but just barely and when I saw a second one, I retreated.

And I forgot to mention that oddness about the elk attack. It came up to me and looked kind of friendly like (though I could see the red dot and health bar) and then suddenly attacked my horse, for no reason. Usually they run? And we didn't attack it first. And then when I had got off the horse and up my weapon and Lydia had killed it from a distance (I never had time to get a shot off - getting off the horse always takes way too much time), I gained in SNEAK when I got back up on my horse.

It is a bit freaky when random animals get caught up in fights. I've had a few of them but in my experience they never actually attacked, they just seemed to panic and get in the way, maybe doing some slight damage as they run into you.

Did the horse fight back?
Some of them do as some previous screenshots of mine prove.

It didn't get caught in a fight though. I was just riding through terrain with Lydia trailing behind and it walked up to me, circled around and stood along side for a moment just looking at me, and then attacked.

And yes I think Allie fought back, but not until I got off. She does get into the fighting so I tend to try to leave her at a safe distance when I expect trouble.

So, my startup screen for Skyrim says that EVERYBODY has been given four free updates due to their tenth anniversary, including the fishing... Wouldn't that mean that you get it too, if you update your game, Val?

No, I have "Oldrim" (which isn't really supported any more) not the Special Edtion. I also had to buy all the DLC separately at definitely-not-cheap prices.
If I was buying it now then I'd obviously get it but back then I didn't have a graphics card and couldn't run the newer version so had to make do with the original release.

Apparently that Epic free version of Fallout 3 is a whopping 40GB download!
It shouldn't be, on Steam it's only 7GB, but it seems it they install ALL the unused language packs to bloat your hard drive. Guess I won't be installing that.
But at least it's tempted me back into New Vegas again. I think I've found some safe storage for all my numerous outfits.

Hmm I seem to have misplaced Lydia somewhere... I tried fast travelling to the place I already was but that didn't help... Not really sure when she last bumped into me.
