Speaking of dead bodies how long do dragon skellingtons remain? I'm pretty sure the skeleton by the tower outside Whiterun disappeared quite quickly, but the others have been in the wilderness and I haven't kept track. Currently we're having one in the market place, though

I really do hate it when the tab button or my staff of flames doesn't actually DO anything.

Earlier the staff refused to do anything when I tried to attack some creepy crawly, until it had run off and the staff suddenly set the ground on fire.

And just now.... I died.

I've never had a dragon skeleton remain very long, so I don't think that's an issue, and if any of them were to hang around it'd probably only be the named ones and I've only had three of those.
Nor have I had problems with TAB or staffs.

Hmm, but was that creepy crawly a Chaurus?
Watch out for that poison.

Played a bit more of Mad Max earlier but quit on it after a mission or two due to the slightly different headache than the one you have.
Would have liked another session on Fallen Order as I'd like to finally encounter Nightsister Merrin again. Her taunting, distant voice keeps pushing me on to get to the next bit but I could probably use a day without late night gaming.

And I decided to explore an area and obviously got in over my head. well, I mentioned I died. Then I died again. And again. And then I retreated.

What ARE those things that look like gigantic fleas? Should I stay clear of them?

Are they HUGE fleas?
If you're in Solstheim I imagine they'll be the Silt Striders.
I haven't been there so I'm not entirely sure what role they play in this game but in Morrowind they're the way you fast travel (a bit like the carriages in normal Skyrim.)

well, they remind me of the mammoths, so maybe they're just walking about grazing. But without the giants.
Plenty of other things around to kill me, though

Edit: F*** it, I don't even have time to save between one fight I manage to win and the next, where I die!

According to Google there's supposed to only be one in Skyrim so maybe it's not Silt Striders that you're seeing.


Edit: Could be a Netch? But they're a bit more like jellyfish close up.

Well they do seem to have floaty tentacles. And that woman in Raven Rock keeps saying they look gentle but one shouldn't be deceived. So I guess it's a netch. I pictured them smaller and sort of floating higher in the air....

Now don't you be "waking up" after I walk through this doorway...

 

Annoyingly, lots of them woke up.

I'd left both Brelyna and Arissa behind for this as I'm having to follow someone else (well, I say "follow" but he wanted me to go first down here) and I thought too many people would be unnecessary, but I may end up having to go back to ask one of them to tag along after dying at the hands of several shouty Draugr. I'd eaten my Vegetable Soup and everything but I think I was a bit complacent and the guy wasn't quite as helpful as I'd anticipated.
"She's reset the traps," he said, "Pull that chain and watch for the spikes."
I pulled the chain and he was stood right in the way of the spikes he told me about.
