Those pets they added to No Man's Sky lay eggs and you can "genetically modify" those eggs before hatching them. I just hatched my first egg. I have this small whitish wasp-like but cute thing (it walks on two hind legs and have four tiny arms, compound eyes and antenna). And I genetically altered it to be bigger, "tamer" and random colours but to keep the physiology. The reason I decided to get one of these was the whitish colour - there are plenty of similar creatures of all sizes on different planets but usually they're all greenish or brownish or a combo of that. So I was looking forward to seeing some amazing colours now that we could genetically modify them, to change colours.... and.... it's brown.

It also has a huge head but I think that's because it's a baby...

I'm not sure nature is nature in No Man's Sky. I think it's all inside a computer... But since I never played to the "end" I don't actually know... It's jus the way they talk about iterations and stuff...

Sadly "my" gang was a bit rubbish again so in the end it was just Evie taking on everyone once more.
But it's OK, I won. "And now you all work for us!"

I think I should probably start using some of those gang upgrades too instead of just levelling up my own weapons.

Been doing a bit of hunting at the various oases and drinking spots in order to get the materials to craft some things...

 

And it's still hard to take a picture without a photobombing flamingo getting in the way...

 

But several hyenas died to provide me with plenty of skins and ...erm... ears.


I think I've now completed all the side quests in the first location of Siwa so perhaps it's finally time to move on to Alexandria.

Looks pretty neat.

I never did get a new game during my vacation, but Planet Crafter is now 15 % off. Considering getting it. Or waiting until it's more off...

Apparently there's a big update for No Man's Sky that's released today.

Don't know if it's added more beetles though..
