The game really doesn't help you decide which way to go. But I've found the missing crow thing now.
Well I did after deciding not to go towards that archway/tunnel despite the voiceover bit that happens in that direction. So maybe I was right not to. Maybe.
And it's OK, that's not a spoiler or anything.

How hard can it be to find a mine?
Assumed it'd be through that tunnel but...

Underground mine rather than kaboomy mine.

Anyway I let it save there for another day and switched to Skyrim where I was also rummaging around in an undergroundy place. Ended up taking a wrong turn, as you do, and then got distracted from my quest by another intriguing little mystery, as you do.
It was so intriguing that it may be a spoiler for something bigger to happen later, or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way I shall keep all my potential spoilery stories and screenshots to myself and continue my secret investigations.

But that symbol was strangely familiar.

Don't you hate it when you accidentally hit the Windows Key in the middle of a fight.
Wasn't even using the keyboard but leaned a bit too far forward during a hectic moment and suddenly Geralt is frozen behind the taskbar and Start menu.
It'll be ok if I just tab back into the action, won't it?

And where did all those pirates come from anyway? Thought there'd be just five or six like the usual bandit hideouts but then twenty more of them seemed to run out from the trees!

Bandits always multiply after being defeated. Like hydra heads. That's why you see the hero in just about every movie being attacked by 4 or 5 guys, defeating 6 or 7 of them and then still having to fight several more.

Personally I hate it when I accidentally touch that round thing on my tablet while fighting someone.... It just makes me spin uncontrollably and then I have no idea which direction I'm facing or where the bad guys are...

The round thing on my tablet used to do things when I wasn't even close to touching it, so I completely disabled it in the settings.
And now it does absolutely nothing.
