Pesky save point that are too far apart!

Just had a very tricky two hours that was not helped by a "little" side quest where I had to fight 150 droids at the same time. And if I'd known it was only a side quest I wouldn't have bothered doing it.

With the recent email from GOG featuring horror games and Banj saying he's playing a zombie game I'm suddenly feeling like playing something scary too. Only I can't decide what. I think I don't know what kind of scary games I like

And looking through the launcher libraries just reminded me of a bunch of games I've played a LOT and almost completely forgotten lately

In my scary games experiments I've tried Maid of Sker which seemed OK scary wise I guess but I never played again so maybe a bit boring? And I tried some ghost hunting thing where you went insane if you actually saw the ghosts. Which defeats the point. Why would I want to play a game with ghosts or demons or whatsits if I can't see them?

I tried dead island 2 as well, but I'm not sure zombies are my thing either. And I've never even dared try Alien though I have the game. (Or one game?)

So I'm picking flowers in Palia... I think maybe I should let it rest for a few days though seeing as I'll probably be obsessed with the new housing and new bulletin board quests as soon as the update is here... (Wednesday.... I can do something else for three days. Right? Right??? )

The scariest game I remember playing is the Ravenholm chapter in Half Life 2. ("We don't go there any more.") but that was a long time ago and I'm not sure how well the visuals have aged or if they'd evoke that response now even though the rest of the game has aged amazingly well.

Alien Isolation starts off scary but there's a point when the randomness of the AI becomes irritating and all you feel is frustration. Well, I do anyway.
I think Death Stranding had some scary moments, particularly the first time you get glooped, whenever that happens for you, and the first giant in Hellblade 2 was disturbingly well done.

Well Subnautica has its scares too... and I guess I can accept those because most of the game is beautiful. I think I'd like something that maybe ...gah. I don't know. I don't want it too scary because then I won't play but if it isn't scary enough I'll just be disappointed and not play either.

I've been through all my libraries a second time and there are so many games I've never tried or can't remember if I tried and some I don't even remember ever claiming. (Not just scary games, obviously...)

Wizard 101 and Pirate 101 are (now?) on Steam. It's been ages since I played but they are free... maybe I should try again? Pirate 101 was very early days when I played last, I think. And I spent money on Wizard 101 but I guess that money's gone now, regardless of whether I start over or don't play at all...

Edit: Steam says Pirate 101 was released 2023. I'm pretty sure I played long before that. Must have been early access or beta or something (probably only available to wizard 101 players?)

Wizard 101? I haven't even played Wizard 1
