Yes, a pirate distraction, I said in the other thread.
I stole a ship and now I'm a-sailing...

 

I didn't sail very well though as not long after this I crashed badly into an island.
I thought some kind of autopilot would kick in and help me to ...erm... park at the beach. Yes, I know "park" isn't the right word, nor is "autopilot"- you can probably see why I'm not good at sailing -so I just kept on going at full speed and wrecked the thing.
I also had trouble trying to get my crew to sing a shanty as I sent them to their deaths. I have collected a few shanties so the option should be there. Maybe I need to prove myself to them first by ..erm... not crashing?

Maybe they're more likely to sing when not heading towards certain death?

Wulf was attacked by a mighty sea monster whilst traversing the great ocean on a tiny raft of logs. He steered the raft toward the distant shoreline fearing the belly of the beast would be his final resting place. The huge creature bit at the raft over and over until it could hold together no more and Wulf plunged into the cold wetness of the water. He swam as fast as he could, the monster sinking it's sharp fangs into his flesh over and over. He watched his stamina bar depleting rapidly with every stroke, yet the sea monster's bites kept pushing him closer to land. And then, with one final push... he made it. Alive, surrounded by enemies from the forest.

At least I didn't have to try and park that thing, he thought to himself.

I'll have to make a new stormcloak character just so I can test my mod. Though it'll be interesting to, eventually, find out if she gets stuck at the exact same place in the quest line as her predecessors...

Now I was just reminded that Gerdur is Ralof's sister and not aunt. But she's married to his uncle...

Oh dear oh dear.... I got a mod that updated the hair on all NPCs, but I can't say I agree with all choices. I will definately have to rework Ri'Saad. Poor cat., I barely recognised him.

Edit: Apparently he does have long hair and I never noticed before... Oh well, I'm still gonna mess him up.

Btw I pretty much actually finished a mod today. I've always felt that it would be nice with somewhere that felt safe to stash loot and maybe sleep ever now and then in Riverwood, but while you're welcome at Alvor's or Gerdur's house (depending on who you followed in Helgen) it doesn't feel "yours" enough for you to come back... I'm not sure I really solved the issue, but basically I added an extra bed to both homes.

So, I've mentioned reworking Alvor's house. I put his family's bedrooms in the basement and made a sort of guest corner upstairs, and turned the counter (which I assume would be for the blacksmith shop but they never sell anything inside anyway) into a kitchen counter.

In Gerdur's house I just added a trapdoor and a small basement with a bed and a knapsack.

Only 2 problems now.
1) I've no idea how to "package" a mod in order for someone else to test it or to share it on the Nexus.
2) Dorthe believes she's an orphan. As mentioned. I've tried recycling her and resetting her AI (since I changed her sleep package as well - I had to tell all three of them to start sleeping in the basement rather than near the front door where the guest bed is, after all...) as well as disabling and enabling her. Nothing works. She uses her bedroom, but she doesn't sleep in the bed, either. (Her parents do what they should, though, except for when I accidentally recycled Alvor and he got kinda frozen in a T-pose. But disabling and re-enabling him worked.)

Oh and I asked in the modding discord, about Dorthe, but no replies yet. I asked about another issue (that I did manage to sort out myself) the other day and got no help with that either. Not sure whether it feels good or bad to find that the other modders are as clueless as I am, seeing as many of them have done this for much much longer than I.
