I finally got some activators to work (weapon rack, plant soils) after a couple of days of struggling. Seems I just needed to go back to an earlier save rather than one where something had apparently gone wrong?
That said, I guess the result doesn't look great
And also I still need to get the bookshelves working. And the secret door. And the workbench/house bits crafting. Which might actually never happen if it's too tricky. I think I need to set up "previews" (misc items) and "recipes" (constructible items) for each part I want to add, so about 20 of each... It sounds tiresome.
And I still haven't added the full ceiling.
Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

In the basement?
Well, I guess it's possible as long as you don't build a house on top.
In other news I just saw GOG has a 48 or so hours free give away. Some pointy clicky thing with chains and Satinav or something in the name (yes, I already forgot even though I made a mental note of it just before closing the launcher and coming here to post...

I've been doing all my daily quests for the New Life Festival in ESO in order to get the big Haven Of The Five Companions house and today I looked at the number of days left, the available event tickets, the number of tickets I've collected, the cost of the keys etc. And after a bit of calculating I think I'm gonna end up short by one single Event Ticket.
Maybe I've calculated wrong.
Maybe it'll roll over another day depending on time zones.
Maybe it'll be back for the next event anyway.
Or maybe I've just wasted my time with something I can't get.

Well that was an "interesting" side mission in Mass Effect.
I was off hunting down and destroying Geth outposts and it seemed like this quest was designed to be done from the Mako, so I drove around and used the big gun wisely and it was all going well until I found myself (and my crew) surrounded by rocket launching troopers who were hiding quite successfully in these little towers and the big Mako gun wasn't doing quite as well in this scenario.
Tali: "We're taking damage, Shepard!"
Yes, I can see that. I can also see that we're almost dead.
But I've got an idea. Let's drive away. I'll hide the Mako behind this hill and the three of us will sneak back on foot and we'll try to take them out with sniper/assault rifles.
And it worked!
It took longer than I hoped and needed a couple of revivals but soon enough they were all dead.
Tali: "Area is secured."
And she was right.... for a very short time.
Only seconds after those words were spoken a Geth drop ship loomed over us and started dropping a seemingly endless supply of Geth Troopers.
We killed and killed and killed and killed before I realised that it wasn't a seemingly endless supply of baddies. It was a literal endless supply and we were now supposed to destroy the ship above us to stop them rather than running around in an eternal shootout.
Alas, you can't really take down a big ship with sniper rifles so... Let's get back to the Mako!
Where did I park it? Behind the hill! Let's go!
And I go... but no-one comes will me.
Never mind. If I can get there and get in then that should suffice and I'll be able to use the big gun on the big ship.
I sprint, get fatigued, sprint, get fatigued, sprint and finally get to the Mako.
I get inside and... The vehicle somehow gets launched miles into the air where it manically spins around like a... a... Skyrim bug.
It continues to spin, bouncing off the mountain tops until I hear again, in a more glitchy fashion, the immortal words of Tali.. "Area is secured."
And then the screen fades into.. "Critical Mission Failure."
