It's one of those remakes where they keep telling everyone that they are not remaking the previous film, but making a more faithful adaptation of the book. They then proceed to make a film that obsessively references the original film version every few seconds.

Now the Nautilus crew are finding fossils in basalt pillars and claiming it's from when they were mud. Basalt is cooled lava, not sedimentary.

Very cool looking fossils, though. I'd love to find something like that.

 

Must every franchise suffer the addition of a pointy-chinned anime spinoff/remake?

Yes, it seems they must.

I didn't get through either trailer. The Dexter one made all those every day things gross me out... And the anime... well, I guess I´m, generally speaking, no anime fan. I did like Spirited Away

I have no problem with the style of the anime, but I am still bothered by all these sequels completely contradicting what is stated in the original films.

I'm also not sure the Dexter series is really necessary as we already know about his past from the original series. I don't really know what story there is to tell there.

This week I've been watching The Fall Of The House Of Usher and it was pretty good but I am a sucker for all those Edgar Allan Poe poems.
And next I'll be starting that Walking Dead spin-off with Sam Porter Bridges in France.

Finished Nautilus - and although it ended with several possibilities for a continuation it seems Disney + cancelled it.
Anyway, in spite of all the nonsensical science I came to rather like it and some of the characters. Would be nice to find out what happened to them all. Those who didn't die and those who didn't return to the Nautilus u-boat anyway.

Just noticed that there's a season four of Vienna Blood starting on TV tonight.
Still haven't managed to stay awake through season three yet.

And after complaining about pointy chin anime spinoffs I recently watched that pointy chin anime spinoff of Altered Carbon and it was... erm...
It felt like a load of really short episodes stuck together to make a short film.

I know I have Vienna Blood available somewhere but I can't recall if it's season 3 or 4. (I do know I've seen at least 2 seasons...)
