I just saw the end of Spiderman Homecoming (maybe second half?). I've caught the Washington scene before but never the beginning and never all of it in one go thought it seems to be on telly pretty often...

Anyway, I rather liked that creepy hawk design thing.

Yeah, I surprised myself by liking that one when I first saw it. It was a pleasant change after all those bloated Avenger things. It's so much better when the baddie is an actual person that you can empathise with and understand rather than an overpowered alien/robot/AI/god that just wants some magic stones for... some reason.

Well as an environmentalist I can sort of empathise with that purple faced guy....

If only he had a Maths Stone to help him understand exponential growth then he'd realise that if he doesn't do something else he'll just have the same problem again in a couple of generations. Better not destroy that magic glove just yet. Oh, wait-

Yep. Affecting 50% of all life in the entire universe did seem like overkill, as well. Hence the "sort of"....

If I must try to empathise with him (sort of) I'd probably try to use the Time stone to go back to an era with less of a problem, then use the Mind stone to force everyone to behave in a way that would implement a sustainable environmentalist policy. :confident:
Or just kill many more than just 50%.

Thanos was a properly interesting villain up to the end of Infinity War, then he was replaced by Young Thanos in Endgame who was just a generic bad guy with no motivation other than he was the villain so he had to be bad.

I think I remember an early hint of his existence (not having read any of the comics) and thinking he seemed potentially scary and powerful, but the more there was of him, the less scary he became...

I guess that's always the case, though...

I'm now watching the movie Silence, where Kylo Ren and Spiderman pretend to be priests to go on a secret mission to find Qui-Gon Jinn at a ComicCon in Japan. Or something like that.

I just watched a bit of Buffy. Yesterday I managed to catch 2 episodes and I'm not sure I had actually seen the first one before. I had seen the second one, though (where everything Willow says comes true). I don't know why it's always Riley-season whenever I end up watching buffy, though.
