Dang now I forgot how I "skinned" the thing... I do remember "Armature Deformation" and "Auto Weight Painting" or something like that but the shortcut key?

:shakefist: This is why I don't like watching all those videos that just mention the shortcut keys in a fraction of a second instead of telling you where you actually find the function in the menus! :stare:

It wasn't Shift+A or S or C. Ctrl +P was for parenting... :dumb:

Edit: And Ctrl + P was it... Unfortunately half the head moves with the ear. So that needs some tweaking...

Aargh, weight painting. :argh:

Does the underside of the torso move OK? cos there seems to be a large distance between that and the spine. The Automatic Weights sometimes messes that up for me.
I usually like to add extra bones that hang down from the spine to catch those areas, plus you can then move or scale those bones to make the flesh swing about or expand like it's breathing. :)

I haven't actually tried more than that leg and teh ears yet... but thanks for the tip about breathing bones, I'll keep that in mind :)

I still haven't a clue how to make only one end of a "bone" (or ear) deform and not the skull that it's attached to. I've tried moving and shrinking the bone but it doesn't seem to make much difference, if any.

I did try bending the spine and it seems to work OK, for this simple model.

Did you do any manual weight painting on the ear?

The rest of it seems to be deforming nicely in the poses.

I tried reducing the weight but it didn't seem to matter either...

Any place where one can download free materials for blender without an account? I just want samples to look at to learn more about how to make them, but I don't want to download something like Blenderkit until I have a proper computer again. If that'll ever come to pass...
