I haven't done anything but open the file (and find the shading workspace) but now that colour shows that I couldn't see before.

Ooooh now my wall looks as weird as your cube. 
Edit: I really have no idea what I'm doing. I guess I'll need to look into it again tomorrow or whenever. It's pretty much bedtime for today. Though I think I need an evening snack first.

Ok, after a lot of messing about I've finally managed to do a housey thing with bevelled edges...
But erm...
Oh, yeah. I should probably do a subsurface thing to soften and curve the edges in a gingerbread way.

VAAAAAL! Help!
Can I rotate a Blender texture? I tried the Vector rotate one but it just seem to swap between making it all black or all white.... Oh wait, I'm stupid aren't I? I should be able to texture map it at an angle. 
Edit: Or not... That didn't seem to make any difference at all.
