Crankshaft's Sketchbook

Sketches for the truck trailer. Some specs going thru my head: It's going to be a science based trailer for transporting dangerous liquids such as liquefied natural gas. LNG is cooled to below 162 deg Celsius so this is essentially a giant refrigerator. It's going to need cooling large fins and movable internal parts. I pushed the shapes and proportions a bit without going too far or else it'll start looking like a space ship (too many 45 angles). Same goes for the semi truck, I kept it the same to keep things familiar. Plus they're cool as is.

Some progress on the truck. Improving the shapes before modeling them. Lots of fun! I love designing stuff.

Still life. Fell asleep about 3-4 times while working on this due to boredom.

Visual library study. 2017 Ford GT. Gotta steal those shapes! The focus here is on learning design languages, forms and improving some line economy/discipline. Not too much focus on technical fundamentals.

Super fun sketching! I've given myself another project (omg), I want to design my version of the Halo warthog. But it will heavily based on real cars and suvs and not the game. All of these are from imagination and therefore some proportions are off.

You may find it boring but I like your cuddly still life. Stick with it.

Your vehicle thumbnails look impressive too, and it's easy to see you're not bored by those. :)
And if you're going to redesign the Halo warthog, please give it some decent controls instead of steering with camera! I'm still haunted by the end of The Maw.

Updates. Going thru another round of discouragement but here's some stuff.

Fell asleep only once this time.

Iterative sketching for the warthog.

Disaster.

I like 3d. Still lots to do.
