Atto: Really like your color scheme and theme.
Cherry: I love faces--glad you went with a close up.
Wolf: Yours is utterly terrifying (I mean the one with Crocodile Dundee--LOL)
Tyl: Love the color palette you are using at the moment--really striking.

Also going with an angel theme as that is the only thing that keeps bouncing around in my head when I hear that prompt word.

I usually start out with several (3-7) really quick, badly drawn thumbnails (take 2-3 minutes each) to see if any of them strike me as interesting. Attached is the thumbnail I'm going with (I did say it was badly drawn, right?).

I like the profile view of a fallen angel with no wings sitting atop some high monument or ruined arch looking up at the open sky and hoping for redemption. There will be sutures/stitches where his wings would have been clearly visible on the one side.

Not terribly original, but that's all I have so I'm going with it. How do you get your WIPs to show in the post as opposed to as an attachment? Did I submit mine too big?

Looking good all,

Tyl: As has been already said awesome colour choice - so vibrant
Schizo: Truly horrifying (again) the trees give an excellent sense of scale though personally I thought you had already sold it and excellent use of contrast to give a sense of depth.
Hansnomad: Sketchy is fine here - I may one day post my original sketches - believe me they are far rougher than yours. As to getting your Wips to show in the post just click 'Insert' after adding your file.

Hope fully an update to mine tomorrow before I leave for Devon on business.

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

nice progress everyone! :) Hope you all had some nice days at least. :)

And Tyl, the color palette of yours is really eye catching!

Click the "insert" button next to the "add file" button when you attach an image and it is inserted into the content of the post.

Thanks all for the guidance on inserting images into posts.

Here's a bit more fleshed out sketch. He will be wearing some kind of pants (not sure what kind). Also not sure of the whole body in the composition--I'm leaning toward cropping to focus more on the face and back and not show most of the legs or feet at all (not happy with the left leg either). Just have to make sure I follow the rules for cropping.

WIP05: The hip wasn't quit right and her lower back catched a lot of light. It just drew too much attention. So I added a shadow, casted from her wings. It feels better. Not satisfied with her face yet.

Hansnomad: Nice pose, reads really well with the contrast light/shadow.

This I call a muscular angel, Tyl! :D Really like the style of yours, even when I'm not sure if all of the muscles fit on her back.. :)

Some progress of mine. Clean details will follow next days :)
