June challenge here: The Leprechaun
May entries - Submarine
General Scribbles
Yeah right, that peacock is stunning!
I’m taking part in My Portrait Artist of the Week again (though I missed the first week because I was working).
I was determined to get one done this week and I finished with about an hour left before the deadline to post it to Insta.
Here’s Clive Myrie, unfortunately I missed the actual live stream so I had to make do with someone else’s screen capture.

I do wish that show wasn't so "Facebooky". I've never really got into the format of the weekly version and I keep missing it when it's edited on TV.
I still love the main yearly shows though and watched the final of the Landscape one just the other day.

Most of the time they don't end at all. I just stop before I get to the end.

Sorry to get all Facebooky on you again peeps but I’m off for a week and actually had the opportunity to paint along live to Mypaotw on Sunday.
Spent a few more hours refining stuff ( though must admit spent most of yesterday playing Valheim) and here’s what I came up with.
Really need to watch how far I’m pushing the values, especially the highlights, starting to look a little plasticcy.

That's a good one. The nose looks really three dimensional and convincing. And it doesn't look plasticky to me. If you do start to feel that way then breaking up the specular highlights into a pore-like texture will usually fix that.
