I watched the live stream on Facebook last Sunday by portrait artist of the year.
They do a four hour live stream of an artist every week painting a celebrity sitter.
I was going to paint along with it but was so engrossed in the uplifting conversation with Floella Benjamin ( childhood memories came flooding back) that I only managed to get a few quick sketches in.
So I took a few screenshots and worked them up later. Here’s where I got in 4 hours.

That looks excellent. Love the progression through the three expressions, it gives a sense of movement and adds to the personality.

I usually pass on the weekly live version of the show for obvious Facebook reasons. I know there is a shortened TV cut of the episode but in that they seem to focus too much on the chat.
I never miss the main TV show though and just finished watching last night's episode a few moments ago.

My new sketch for the next commission.
This is going to be a B/W piece at A2 size for a friend from work.
He’s an ex miner and the photo I’ve dropped in the background is the actual pit he used to work at.
I fell in love with the pose that little girl is pulling. There’s going to be a big black smudge on her dress.
The only brief I had was a miner holding a girls hand of around 14, black and white and the size.
Not sent it over to him yet but would love some C&C of anyone gets a sec. cheers!

I like her pose too, and the whole composition and sketch. The only thing is I find it a bit hard to "read" (or rather, see how it fits with the rest) is the girl's feet.

The sketch and pose look fine to me, the only awkward thing is the difference in perspective between the figures and the photo background. The "vertical" gap between the man's feet (I know it's not really vertical because one is behind the other but you know what I mean ) implies an eyeline high up at the same level as his head but the background has a much lower eyeline where the horizon is below the waist.
