General Scribbles
That was my biggest issue Val, scary stuff and a LOT of post production editing.
I overuse that drop shadow thing too. Maybe it’s the way I do it but I also think it flattens the foreground element so I’m loathe to do it here.
Good news is she’s just paid me for all three pieces I’m doing for her so YAY! She must be happy huh?

That's the reason I picked this photo to paint. I usually just leave any flowers as a sketchy mess of vague brush strokes so I wanted to do some with a bit more detail.

Love the subtlety of the textures and colours, like the little bumps on the wet nose and the suggestion of fur without resorting to drawing individual strands.
These "looking down at pet" photos are some of my least favourite references to work from because of the potential problems they create but you've succesfully dealt with every possible issue and I really can't think of any way to improve on it.
