I really like the wolf faces.
I find those long snout/muzzles very hard to do especially with the front facing angles, but they're wonderfully done here even with just the linework.

Valence:  Thank you!  I put a lot of effort into the wolves so I'm glad to hear the faces look good!

.......................I went ahead and finished the painting process.  I got the colors and values pretty much how I wanted them fairly early, so everything went quite smooth.  I'm pretty satisfied with how the image turned out, but there's still time to implement any feedback if necessary, so if something looks off please let me know. Below is the current preview followed by the steps for those interested:

Love the colour scheme! Not at all what I would have expected from the linework. The choice of darker values for the wolves makes them look super sinister.

The colours ended up really nice. Sort of cold and sober mood-wise.

I'm not entirely convinced by the shape of the front wolf's body though. I didn't notice before, guess it wasn't as noticeable before the colouring. If you do make adjustments, take a second look at it and in particular the silhouette, I think. It kind of reads as a strange shape, to me.

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Valence:  Thank you!  Glad you like the color choices, thought the black wolves would be a great contrast to the white snow so I went with those, glad to hear it worked out nicely!

Charlotte:  Thank you!  Was going for a quite natural color scheme so I'm glad to hear that.  I went ahead and did a minor adjustment to the shape of the wolf, hopefully it's better (I updated the previous post).  It didn't make a big difference but I feel it works well enough now.

..........................

Started work on a new illustration.  This is Thor from Norse Mythology.  For the general pose I referenced one of Satine Zillah's reference pack while coming up with a unique character design with the look of a viking.  I worked on the sketch for a while so I might have become immune to some of it's mistakes, so I would be very grateful for any feedback on it!  Below is the current sketch:

That corner of the hammer is perilously close to the tip of the horn. And part of me is concerned that the handle exactly follows the angle of the forearm.
Of course these may not turn out to be problems as I'm notoriously bad at spotting issues in linework so feel free to ignore but just be aware of it as you continue to work. ;)

I went ahead and updated the sketch to improve the general design, and finished up the painting process.  I'm fairly satisfied with how it turned out, and I'm open to make some minor changes and fixes and such if necessary, so please let me know if something feels 'off'.  Below is the current preview followed by the steps for those interested:

Time for a new illustration!  With this one I'm going for a more 'Lord of the Rings' vibe, featuring an elegant elf.  The figure was referenced from this awesome stock photo I found which you can view  here , did my best to draw the pose accurately and I felt I was quite successful in that regard.  I took some artistic liberties in the character design as well for a more fantasy type vibe.

Any feedback would be most appreciated before I begin work on the color tests!  Below is the current sketch:

The link seems to lead to the same pic as above?
