They were originally Electronic Arts. Now they are the most hated company in the world apparently.

This posting at the same time is getting out of hand 

EA have the single most downvoted post ever on Reddit.

The game has now installed.
And it runs without crashing. So far.
Not sure about frame rates and settings cos I'm still just playing about with the character creation thing. Which is pretty good too.

I've heard of Electronic Arts but thought they made games not launchers.
Also have no idea why they're hated but I guess there is a reason (or multiple...)

I guess I'll have to get that launcher too, then. Once I get around to installing the game.

I'm gonna have to start making better choices.

I played through a bit of the tutorial but I'm not completely happy with the character I created. Gonna have to go back and experiment with the different races/classes. I like the character switching within the game once you get a group, that was good fun, and the tactical camera thing seems interesting but I didn't reach a point where I had to use it yet. I suspect that it was just up that stairway before I quit.
I shall try out some more things next time.

They have done many scummy things over the years, including intentionally putting small game companies out of business in order to obtain rights to the games. At one point the company was run by the man who recently did significant damage to the Unity game engine.

What was the damage done to Unity?

They were introducing a new license with fee for every installation of the Unity runtime (which is required to run anything created with it). It was an extremely unpopular decision that lead to some large Unity users to move to other platforms. The CEO was then removed, the new CEO has also now gone as far as I know. They closed down a load of companies they had just purchased, such as Weta Digital. Basically complete chaos, not to mention the dubious share selling the board members did prior to announcing their new licensing scheme.

They changed it, but I think the new version still has some variant of the runtime fee. And there's no real guarantee they wont just change the licensing on a whim sometime in the future again, not that it really affects me 

I have a mod that allows you to give Meeko to Lod instead of Barbas. So I did, and the first thing that happens is a guard passes and says "Stupid dog". Poor Skyrim dogs, nobody really likes them.
