Arrows are scarce in the early moments of Rise Of The Tomb Raider. Unlike the previous game where you could unrealistically find loads just laying around, here I'm having to craft my own!
But then I lose too many by failing to hunt very well.
And then have to craft even more!

There must be some more feathers around here somewhere.
Preferably not the ones on the birdies that are very hard to hit.

Oh, look. My camel has a back seat for dead bodies. :giggle:

But enough of the early quests and stories, seeing as this is gonna be my last session of the free trial let's do the tourist stuff. :woohoo:
 Pyramids? Check. :aha:

With bonus birdie. :)
And if you keep still long enough you can pet the birdie too! :excited:

Even under the chin. :)

Mmm, birdie's loving that, isn't he? ;)

How can you pet the birdie without moving? :stare: Even in the still pictures above I can tell that you are moving!

The birdie interactions were some of the "idle" animations so it kept happening while I was trying to take photos of the landscape. :P
The last two were when I was trying the frame the perfect shot of the Pharos lighthouse in Alexandria, which looked awesome!
The sense of spectacle as you travelled the historical locations was one of the biggest attractions and I did enjoy my brief time doing it.
I was even tempted to look at the price and it was one of the cheaper AC games on Steam but I am saving those coins for the Witcher 3 DLC and I don't have the space at the moment and I haven't even played Brotherhood or Unity yet.

And speaking of lack of space, with everyone recently talking about ARK again (well, not Banj obviously) I've seen quite a few people referring to something called CompactGUI which is a little tool that can compress game files without any performance loss.
Unfortunately auto-updates seem to ruin all the space-saving but I might take a look at it for the sake of my poor hard drives. :hmm:

I bet that won't look how I remember it looking.
But it's only 168MB! :woohoo:

I opened up my controller today for another quick clean as I had a touch of Drifty Stick last night and I looked on in horror as part of the potentiometer dropped off due to cracked soldering!

I wouldn't even know what the potentiometer looked like (I didn't even know such a thing existed). :dumb:

They're the things that are not supposed to fall off. :confident:

A bit like all the other things that are not supposed to fall off. :dumb:
