I think we now know why Val's previous computer took 20 minutes to start up...

Edit - you can sort of arrange the start menu in windows 10. I still mostly end up using search to find things I need if it's something I don't have on my taskbar, though... 

 

I cleaned up my desktop! Was only a couple of shortcuts to programs, which I had kept to remember that I had installed the programs. I think. I never used them, so... And I did have the epic and gog launchers there, now they're on the taskbar. Subnautica however, can't be added to the taskbar, it seems (it adds the Epic launcher instead) so I kept those. (They allow me to start the games without starting the launcher first.)

And finally that Teams thing is something I'm required to have, by the unemployment agency. Because they might request that I use it for stuff. So far they haven't, though. 

Now if I could clean my actual desk.... or home...

Just remembered that I have Opera on my taskbar too.
But I still have all the shortcuts to other browsers that I don't even use....

 

And I also have two shortcuts for both Skyrim and Morrowind. That's partly because of mods in the first case and the awful Bethesda Launcher in the second. And it's a long time since I had the patience to bother looking for custom wallpapers especially when they mostly remain hidden behind icons.

No custom wallpaper! See, mine allows for plenty of shortcuts AND an owl. Even though I don't actually have many of them... And I'm pretty sure I could somehow,, somewhere, actively search for images that did allow for some empty space... Not that I recall where or when or how or pretty much anything... That owl's been sitting there for years.

Played a bit more of Vampyr last night and couldn't remember how to equip the shooty weapons.
Never mind, I'm quite good with the stake and the massive knife so I'll make do with them.
Oh, what's that? This enemy is resistant to melee attacks?!

I have now googled how to equip shooty weapons.


Also your lovely desktops have shamed me into changing my wallpaper and I now have a nice picture of the moon... behind all the icons.

And I accidentally clicked the Epic Launcher on my taskbar Oh well, might as well check the weekly freebie - I haven't remembered to do that since the Holidays.

And it's....sloooooow...

The game is Relicta - a puzzle game, apparently. Sounds fairly interesting - so I'm getting it.

That was "last week's" freebie, I think it's changed over now to some kind of Mech thingy.
