Where's the Mudcrab Merchant when you need him?
Still haven't found him in Morrowind.

I don't really do much trading in Witcher 1. All my merchant encounters have been quest related things that you "have" to do.
And they don't seem to pay good prices anyway.
Perhaps all the buying/selling may become more important later in the game but for the moment I'm mostly just killing things and trying to question people for clues.

I don't think the buying/selling becomes all that important ever. It's just a way to get rid of all the stuff you don't really need. Which is probably a lot more than you think. (At least it was for me...)

Meanwhile I am beginning to suspect their is a touch of the Tyler Durdens about Roach. I can fast travel around the planet (despite my hatred of being teleported ), I whistle and there he is. And there's the fact that giving him larger saddle bags allows me to carry more in my inventory before becoming overburdened even though he isn't with me

Roach is also behaving oddly and nobody but me appears to notice...

erm...

For a moment there, I thought you said MY advice was sound. I see now you refer to Mindy's. Did you see Mork around too?

And the odd behaviour of Roach is probably just due to jet lag...

Maybe Roach is overburdened in that last picture

could be...

Anyway back to LA Noire. There's quite a lot of driving in this next case and it's really odd playing a game where you have to actually stop at the lights...


...at least my partner talks to me while we wait.
And then when I finally got to the destination I had a weird encounter with a plant.



Poor Detective Phelps got stuck on the damn thing and unlike the Morrowind/Witcher dog I couldn't really wait for the plant to move.
So I had to go into some menus and then hope he was "unstuck" when I returned to the game. Not quite "Roach" levels of entertainment but a glitch is a glitch.

Sneaky plant. I bet it was buying time for the culprits...

"So, Mr Plant, you say you were being watered when the crime occured?"

Perhaps I should have listened to the boss there.
If you want to avoid the plant then "walk this way."

Poor Geralt goes to Shani's house to have a late night chat and still gets constantly harassed by this old hag repeatedly screeching "Welcome!" "Welcome!" "Welcome!"



I tried to distract her by giving her a drink but then she said I was drunk and threw me out.
I went back in hoping she'd forgotten but she threw me out again.

"Welcome!"

Whilst trying to avoid her in that room I did find her diary and when I picked it up it went into the Quest Items box rather than the normal inventory so she must be vaguely important in a way I don't yet know.

But at least I finally beat Carmen at Dice Poker with a full set of fours!
