Clever horse.

I'm still failing to do the right things in the right order in The Witcher.
I thought I'd try to flog some of those Salamandra badges to the messenger in the inn (who is somehow linked to a merchant I have to find somewhere) and maybe get some more information but... He's not in the inn. Perhaps it should be called the Not Inn!
Maybe I should go to that merchant first. He's apparently at the Dike wherever that is. Oh, it's a different place that has to load in. That's OK.
Wandering around there I can find lots of people called "Merchant" but not the one I want who has a proper name. I obviously have to do things in the right order and at the right time. I suppose I'll have to find another campfire where I can wait until... whatever time I'm supposed to be there.
Maybe next time. I'll do some exploring instead. Went on a boat and found a swampy area that I didn't know about.
I wish all these separate areas were on the same map. But at least I picked up a friendly follower...

Yes, I killed it he laughed at my haircut. It was a mistake. I didn't know you couldn't back out of a barbers and had to go with whatever you selected.

Nope.

Still can't find the messenger but I did find the merchant. In fact, I think I've spoken to him before, it's hard to tell because of the way they re-use character models.
But this time he did have something important to sell me, so I'm now 500 coins poorer.

But not important enough to help with the killer plant.

well, I remember the plants too. I didn't like them. And if I recall correctly, using the burn spell was decently effective... (+ sword of course - or maybe an axe? I never tried that...)

Yeah, the Igni burn thing was supposed to be the right choice... if you'd leveled it up correctly.
Sadly I'd been using all my points on the other power that was pretty useless for this. I tried just hacking at it and then running away to heal before going back but the plant seemed to heal as well!
In the end I managed by using that time-slowing blizzard potion thing.
And then Gramps was delivered to his shrine.
And I found out that I can teleport from Places Of Power! (I wondered what they were for.) They all seem to take me back to Kalkstein's place so it's obviously because of that thing he gave me when I wasn't paying attention.
