And now I find my thoughts drifting to mods.
When I first launched the game I got that silly "Min Requirements" message, which I bypassed with the launch code, but that fix does leave the textures looking pretty awful. Time to start reading up on tweaking settings.

And I downloaded a mod to give him a few more wrinkles so that he looks a bit closer to his appearance in the later games. So let's get questing with....
...an escort mission.
Well at least the moon looks nice when I get the camera facing the right way...
And speaking of cameras, I've only just realised that if you pick the higher viewpoint it plays much more like a point-and-click game. The combat makes a lot more sense when you know that.
But I still prefer the over-the-shoulder action view.

I hope there's not going to be something nasty there.
I obviously wasted too many minutes looking for mods and didn't have enough time to finish the quest. (Thankfully I've found the quicksave button!) I will try to get her there before bed. Dead or alive.
Then I'll have to find that Reverend chap.

So she's alive and well and now wants to meet again as long as I bring the wine! And this has to be over at the mill so that we don't shock dear grandma.

I'm definitely liking it a lot more now that you can freely roam around in that exploring way. That prologue felt a bit disappointing with all those tedious cut scenes that told you what you HAD to do. Scripted scenes always feel more interesting to me when they're integrated into the game. As soon as I'm given a little movie to watch my hand starts to hover above the escape key as my patience counts down.
And I've downloaded another mod that lets Geralt walk as well as frantically running everywhere. Some of my favourite moments in Skyrim/Morrowind are when I calmly walk into a new place while taking in the sights and now I can do that with my Witcher too.

It's hard to keep up with these daily offers.
EDIT:
Stupid Odo! Making me drink too much to kill his plants!
Now I can see two moons!
I need to meditate the grog away. Where's a campfire when you need it?
