I did update stuff after seeing that there was something waiting but nothing's made a difference to the screen. My brother was right about there being some sort of "connection gap" somewhere... Besides leaving the comp alone for a few, opening and closing the lid also changes the screen. So most of the time, I have to open the lid multiple times before I can see anything but bright pink and white... :dry:

And still no word from the sellers *pout*

They need me to send it for service again.*sigh* I wish they'd just send me a new one.

I'm not good at demanding stuff. I did mention how much time I lose from having to send it away, preparing to send it away and reinstalling everything when it comes back, as well as say I'd PREFER a new one, but... :shrug:

Say you need it for work and are losing money and that all these delays and failures are completely unacceptable. :stare:

It's really easy to advise other people to do all this. I probably wouldn't even be assertive enough to send it back in the first place. :lol:

Anyway I have now completed the main story in Assassin's Creed Syndicate. :aha:
There's still plenty left to do in the game so I won't be uninstalling yet. There are gang missions, a couple of murders to solve, some new post-game quests from dear old Queen Vicky and I've got the Jack The Ripper DLC story but... the main big baddie is now dead. :pirate:

Well, I've told one company (seller) that I need it for job hunting, that I'd expected a 30k computer to last longer than a year, that I'd prefer a replacement, that it wastes oodles of time every time I have to send it to service and the servicer, pretty much the same things. Minus the looking for jobs part. I also figured I shouldn't go all Karen on them and admitted the replacement responsibility probably lays with the seller rather than them...

And admittedly if I had loads of money and/or computers weren't too pricey I'd just go get another one. But this one cost an arm and a leg, it should be GOOD. :stare:
