And there are mods that make children not indestructible (I haven't bothered with those though, although if I ever manage to learn how I think I'd like to make my own kids make-over mod as I'm not happy with any of the existing ones... and definitely not happy with the potato kids who all share the same face.)

I didn't really think so. But I guess that's good news as it means Banj's not actually coming to kill you.

Speaking of names I need to come up with one for a teacher NPC I want to make for the Orphanage... Young man, maybe Imperial. Maybe just another Nord. Or maybe mer I'll have to look at lore-friendly names tomorrow...

I am currently being mocked and humiliated by a dreadful child in Disco Elysium. I really wish I'd tried the option to punch him earlier.
I'm also struggling to cope with the smell of the dead body. I thought I'd worked the chance to get past it by "getting my shit together" AND getting the annoying child to almost feel sorry for me but thanks to a poor dice-roll I failed again even though the odds were in my favour.
I think I have to go and do something else for a while before I'm able to try again.

It continues to be a very odd game but the writing is still making me laugh.

If you have problems with the smell of dead bodies, you might find that you're not actually playing a game at the moment....

I haven't done any story quests for a while in ESO, I just did my daily crafting things and endeavours during all that Gamepass stuff, so I thought I'd get back into one today and set off to the Hall Of The Dead in Windhelm for a Mages' Guild mission.

And I got completely slaughtered.
Used up so many soul gems and potions trying to revive myself and stay alive for just a few more seconds amidst the ridiculously large mobs. And all my gear is deteriorating with all the deaths.
Has the game suddenly become more difficult during the time that I wasn't doing fighty quests?
Or have I just got worse?

Anyway, I had to just run away and retreat in the end cos it really wasn't working.
And then the gameplay tip on the loading screen patronised me by saying fleeing is always an option in a difficult fight.


EDIT: Apparently the Hall Of The Dead is a Public Dungeon which is designed for groups of players, hence the mobs of many baddies.
I may have to just run through it in an occasionally invisible way if I want to do it solo.
