I also managed to catch up with the Terminator franchise recently in the form of Dark Fate.

It turns out I needn’t have worried though - it’s just a feeble remake of T2. I’m not kidding either.
It’s the same basic plot, with a majority female cast, they’ve just amalgamated the endo-skeleton from Arnies character with the T1000 and rebranded SkyNet.
The effects are sub par but there are a few nice action sequences. We even get a similar chase to the end of T2 right near the start of the movie.
The only saving grace for me was John Connor is only in it for the briefest of moments.

The franchise still ended at T2 for me. The rest of the ‘series’ no longer exists in my mind.
What a shame.

What to choose for the Saturday Night movie?

Passengers is on "normal" telly tonight but I think I'll record that and save it for later. I have seen it before anyway.
Instead I might try that "Brightburn" thing that I've seen a few adverts for this week. I'd never heard of it until then but I'll give it a go.

Never heard of it either....

Gimme a couple of hours and I may be envying our ignorance.
But you never know, it might be ok?!

I thought Brightburn was actually pretty good. I watched it last night. Think more along the lines of horror/super villain movie in the more realistic vein of Unbreakable than Marvel or DC.

And risking a ban from Banj I really enjoyed Passengers but then I’m a big Chris Pratt fan.
Either one will keep you entertained in my opinion.

I watched Hotel Transylvania.

I haven't seen that one but I have now seen Brightburn. And it was quite enjoyable once it got going, the opening scenes were a little awkward and dull, but the dark creepy stuff that followed was effective and satisfying. And then... it ended.
I was expecting another hour of story but I just got the credits. I suppose it's better to leave people wanting more.
It reminded me a bit of Chronicle and perhaps a touch of Midnight Special too.
