Last night I watched Mortal Engines and found it to be a bit of a waste of good ideas. The world, the concept and the designs were all interesting (despite the absurd physics of it all) but it was somewhat let down by the two weakest main characters I've seen in a long time. And then it decided that it wanted to be Steampunk Star Wars. :eyeroll:
Still, a vaguely entertaining two hours if you don't expect it to be good.

And tonight I have just finished watching the first episode of His Dark Materials and I'm very glad that I've read it before. The teaser at the end gave away the entire plot of the whole book!
Stop doing that!!! :shakefist:

I concur, and those were my thoughts as well when I watched it some time back. ... They could have done so much more with it...

I watched mother! on Saturday, and I'm still debating with myself over whether I think it's clever and intelligent or stupid pretentious nonsense, and if I liked or disliked it.

Also saw I am not a serial killer, which went in a direction I wasn't really expecting from it.

I've been Binge watching the 100. I had a bunch of comments after the pilot but I've been brainwashed since. Even if I doubt bodies "metabolise" radiation...

I don't think I managed to make it through the first season of the 100.

I've never seen Mother!, but wasn't sure if it might be good or not? I do like most of her work, but wasn't sure how this one would come out.

Think I got through the first two, possibly three seasons of 100? (It's been a while) - But I believe there are 4 or 5 seasons to it now? ... I do recall one actor leaving that show when they moved over to the Walking Dead, but don't think I've seen anything after that point? (Tend to lose interest sometimes, waiting for the seasons to be put on Netflix.) I actually didn't watch 'Breaking Bad' until the entire 5 seasons were completed, which I actually find best for those shows I do end up enjoying.

I'm starting to vaguely remember a trailer .... was Mother! that film where someone was raised by a robot/computer something?

and I made it through season 1 alright, but some parts of season 2 - especially the first few episodes - got a bit dull. And I've seen season 5 mentioned somewhere so there are at least that many seasons. Not sure if all of them are on netflix though. I think I'm about half-way through season 2. In the first season I was annoyed by pretty much everyone being under 18, now I'm annoyed that the grownups expect the teens to go right back to being obedient little kids. (not that they ever were obedient, exactly.) I'm also bugged by Jaha's 180 degree turns between wisdom and stupidity - once, fine but back and forth? It's a bit like that guy Locke in Lost. He was a survivor but he always screwed things up at some point...

Oh I see :dumb:
Actually I don't see a thing... so what's "Mother!" about, then?

EDIT: and they need to come up with more varied film titles...
I am legend
I am robot
I am mother...?
