Those open-plan rooms with white/grey with black accents are very sad. Everything looks like an empty, minimalist art gallery these days.

Well, yes or bedrooms look like hotel rooms.
In Swedin it's been going on for at least a decade now (my own apartment was last done in grey, white and black which might be why I've come to hate it so much but I didn't do it! I just thought I wouldn't feel like it had to be redone...). It's not just open plan and with grey or black accents. It's grey or black kitchen cupboards, grey walls in every room. I saw one house for sale which had those "one accent wall" things in every room, and in each case it was a different black and white wall paper. It looked like they were just trying them all out. It was a bit house too, three floors. The one different room was painted pink (I don't think it was a kid's room I just think they hadn't gotten to it yet because the walls looked older).

My apartment has a pale grey (but thick and weird and really sloppily applied) wall paper in the living room, dark grey walls in the two bedrooms and the same dark grey on the kitchen cupboards. (And you can tell which order stuff was painted in because there's more and more junk in the paint (like old, dry flakes). And the grey kitchen is complemented by a black and white wall paper. :eye roll: Oh and yes the bathroom has a grey wall paper, grey floor and grey "trim" at the top of the walls, too... I wish I had the skills, energy and funds to redo all of it.

I wonder if anyone would pay 2,5 million GBP for my bed?
It's rather messy too, and full of cat hair and possibly a dead spider... (the one that was on the ceiling for the past couple of days is gone but I think it molted or whatsitcalled and if so it might have dropped down right onto my bed during the night, I guess... Or maybe it wasn't so clumsy and actually walked off, upside down. )
