Just wasted nearly two hours trying to fix that low poly head of that low poly body I used in that previous haunted house thing.

There must be so many easier ways to do/understand this. :pout:

Anyway, I've found another video tutorial on YouTube that looks simpler than the other ones I've struggled with so I'm now gonna try that... ...erm...
...maybe tomorrow?

But I've downloaded and saved the video. I WILL try it, honest. Just another time when my patience has restored itself. :)

Well, I am still doing those things I wasn't supposed to do as I was "only" going to do something simple. Still, the "only" things I'm doing also seemed fairly simple. Until suddenly things don't work and Blender says nif was exported "with warnings". If I click on the warning message it opens a log which says the exact same thing. I've no idea where/how to find what the warning's about. :pout:

I worked through the video very slooowly and I did get to the end. Don't get too excited by that, the face I've done looks terrible in terms of structure and won't be posted here but that doesn't matter, I can sculpt all that to look like whatever I want later. But the topology looks right, that's the important thing and they all seem to be quads.

Oh, and this was the video...


It took me much, much longer and now I've got a headache and a pain in my neck. :(

I was just gonna do some minor changes to an NPCs house in Riverwood (Alvor's), but decided that 1) it's too close to the river so the basement really shouldn't be too close to the water and 2) the foundation is much longer than the basement so why not extend it a bit? :woohoo:

Well, the reason it looks like it does, is that the wooden upper floors of the farmhouses all come with their stone basement bits already attached and the staircase then of course comes with a wall that prevents any extension. For the same reason (the two floors being built together, not the staircase) the basement wall can't be moved further from the water. So what do I do? Well, obviously I rebuild the meshes of the four house pieces making up the house so that they only consists of an upper floor (apart from the one with a basement staircase which does come with basement attached but no walls to the sides of the stairs...)

So that's what I've done pretty much all day. I've also started moving Alvor's furniture around the way I think it should be. I guess that's when it got so late? :dumb:

Why do triangles keep appearing every time I make an "improvement" to the model??? :cry:

And then you spend ages and ages trying to redirect the edges, you think you've finally got it and then you spin the model round and the triangle has reappeared on the other side! :shakefist:

And it's so close to working. :(
