"redirect" how?

And I think Val might be on to something but the windows are already copied from other meshes, and includes double vertices here and there, but if those shading groups are what I think they might be, then it's the walls double vertices that matter, not the windows... (Also, when they have double vertices for stuff, it's bloody impossible to choose "the right ones" :shakefist: )

Double and floating verts etc. would also cause it. You redirect edges by using a tool that cuts edges where they are supposed to go, and remove edges that are going where they aren't supposed to go.

Meanwhile, I made some new carpet patterns...

I made a simple recolour plain brown too, and a simple stripey blue. I have made them into carpets in game but I haven't placed them anywhere yet.

and after making some walls with no in CK problems (beside those shaodws) yesterday and some new carpets today, I applied the same work method as with the walls, to make something else, also static, and... broken.

:argh:

It's the same broken that makes me move on to modding something new every time. I need to figure out how to fix this so I can maybe finish the occasional mod at some point in my life. Then again, I haven't even started on scripts and activators and all that fun stuff... so I guess I'll never finish anything anyway.

Oh my, I think I kind of fixed it. At least this time. Mostly by running the item through the nif optimiser one extra time...

My plan was to be in bed before midnight today. I mean yesterday. :dumb:
But at least I have now emptied out Breezehome so that it's mostly just the "bare necessities" (i.e. the stuff that's there before furnishing) in my version of the house. Minus markers and such things and a few activator things... I'm a little afraid to touch those. Though I did move the bookcases through the walls. (I moved most things out through the walls, for now. Just got rid of cobwebs, haypiles and crates as my version is "renovated" and it makes no sense to have all those things in a recently repaired and repainted house...)

Next I'll need to set up what it would look like AFTER furnishing. And rename and reconnect all those markers... And then hope I can figure out how to make that guy who works for the jarl sell me the furnishings... Oh and I still need to finish the exterior (add collision). Should be fairly simple but I forget how to use nifskope between every run... :dumb:

Anyway, I guess I might be in bed before midnight in the UK at least...
*looks at time*
If I turn off my computer NOW.

This modding business is all so odd...
I made 4 new items today (after having decided multiple times, that I shouldn't. Obviously. :paranoid: ) and 3 worked in CK while one didn't. I've no idea what was different with that one item.

Then again all the others did have some issues, one of which being that my normalmap didn't seem to actually have any effect at all,,, another that at least some of the items seemed to retain the colours of the original objects used to model them (so a bottle based on the frostbite venom bottle was greenish while one based on a skooma bottle was reddish...) - I tried to check in nifskope, but I checked the one item that wasn't working and it still wasn't working after I fiddled with it, so I don't know yet, but I guess there are more textures involved or maybe some base colours (though those usually are white).

I also need to redo some of my texturemapping
...and some parts of the texture...

...and probably loads more.

Still need to fix a wee bit of the texturemapping, and then redo the UV map to hopefully make it actually work
But I made some things, anyway, and they don't seem to be crashing the CK which is good... :aha:

Edit: The skooma bottle had red vertex colours which I got rid of, but where the green on the other bottle comes from is a complete and utter mystery. :dumb:

Edit 2: actually the corks should be the same colour too  I guess that colour comes from the same place as the green. (I still suspect vertex colours I just can't seem to find them in the file...)

Well, I redid the normalmap and I have no idea why it isn't having any effect whatsoever. It also doesn't seem to register that I have some areas darker and some lighter to vary the specularcolour from what I understand. Something about the alpha (transparency) that I don't understand and which doesn't seem to happen... I'm using an online tool to make the normal map and I'm sure I've used it before... It looks like a normalmap. Except it seems to be colour variations only, not transparency (that is, my darker areas are not more transparent than my lighter areas, which is what should happen, I think?)

:dumb:

Does anyone else understand this stuff??? Because I obviously don't. :pout:
