Did you use the Save for Web option to save? I think it should be there even in your version of Photoshop. It should be in the same menu as normal save and hopefully then you can choose PNG-24 as a way to save. Hopefully it shouldn't look too different to this..

Hey Claude, just a question for ya. I used to use JPEG's all the time, up until I purchased my iMac 4 years ago. And since the default setting for screenshots, or selected screenshots, was PNG, I've been pretty much using it since. ... The question I have is what is the difference between the PNG-8 & PNG-24? Since you suggested to Dom, he use the 24, I thought it might be related to picture quality, such as resolution, etc.?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

If I'm right the main difference is the colour range. I think PNG 8 can only accept a smaller number of colours. For fairly monotone images and at smaller resolutions you won't notice much difference but if you put in a rainbow gradient at 1000 - 2000 px or higher and compare the two you should notice a difference. The PNG 8 will have much more noticeable bands of colour whereas PNG 24 should remain smooth

Weird - I just replied to Thomgirls thread and was thinking about asking someone if they wanted to collaborate on something to try and remotivate me, then the next thread was this one!

If you want to email me the image dom I'd really like to have a shot at that one, I have something I'd like to try on it. I'll pm you my email address. :)

EDIT: Sorry, still getting used to this forum, didn't notice there were three pages to this thread! Guess I did a dom. :woohoo:

Lol. I'm trying to get it into next years dictionary:

Awesome ! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I had the same idea, as I had a few pictures that I came back to, that I just couldn't fix or visualize anything with. You can lean so much more when someone paints over your pic or adds something to it, as it trains you to see something you never thought of before ! When i'm stuck adding detail or anything else, I usually overlay different pics/photos on top of what I already have down to see other things that didn't creatively jump out at me.
