I'm almost certain that I haven't done this one before, but you're right, it is a familiar pose and style for me.
I didn't really want anything too challenging today so I picked the one I knew I'd feel comfortable with. :P

Never stop being lazy. :D

Oh, no, I just meant that her face looked familiar to me - something about the eyes and mouth. Maybe she looks like someone famous (I can't recall who, though, so I don't know for sure)

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

*looks at pic again*
Maybe Amanda Seyfried? :hmm:

My obsession with "too-big eyes" can often make my sketches look like that. :)

Yes! That's exactly who it reminded me of! (I had to google her though, not knowing the name...)

Beard And Baby.

And apparently no hands! :woohoo:

Don't know what happened to them. I'm sure I remember painting them.

The old ‘disappearing hands trick’ eh? I hate it when they do that!

I’m using the layout app on my phone to compare the refs with my work atm. It seems to help with the old ‘posting it and then noticing all the mistakes’ problem we’ve discussed before.

Here’s my daily - that actually took a day and a half (or about 3 hours of actual drawing).

Whereas I love it when that happens!

Excellent work on yours! And it's a good ref too. It has a kind of sci-fi mood to it but without any obvious references to a specific theme and you've done a fine job with that change in saturation across the face.

Thanks Val.

Here’s my new WIP. The mighty Mr Stamp. I’ve never done a portrait with up lighting before. It’s really interesting (to me at least) how the light hits the planes of the face.

Pictures with that "up-lighting" are very weird to do. You have to suppress that instinct to go for the shadow colours all the time and then quickly hit the undo key when you forget again.
Looks very good. Maybe a bit more light could catch that far nostril. It makes the nose look a little skewed even though you have got the proportions correct.
