Ohhhh.... and that explains why everyone was wearing poppies in an episode of... uh... what was it... oh, Young Morse, I think. Possibly. I don't usually watch that series.

Why is it that whenever I make the effort to tell Windows that I like this particular login screen photo they then IMMEDIATELY change it to something I don't like. 
Was a nice photo of Mars yesterday (Like what you see? Yes, I do!) and now it's suddenly a big mountain landscape and that one will no doubt stay there for weeks.

That just tells spotlight that you prefer to see more images of that type, it doesn't actually set that image as the lock screen back ground. You would need to do that in settings>personalisation>lock screen and apply the image there.
EDIT - You may be able to find it again by doing this: How to Find Windows Spotlight Images (lifewire.com)
ANOTHER EDIT - Then again it might not. I just looked through the pics in that folder and I've never seen any of the trash in there before
no wonder I'm running out of space on my drive.

And that seems like a lot of hard work.
But while I'm moaning about things, here's another one.
Downloaded a photo I wanted to sketch today only to find it was an AVIF file!? What the hell is AVIF?? It's bad enough trying to avoid WEBP images but now I have to check it's not AVIF too!
Nothing I have installed will open it so it's gone in the recycle bin and won't get sketched. Whatever it was.
I've forgotten already.
Told you my memory was getting worse.
But while I'm moaning about things, here's another one.

According to Wikipedia AVIF is an image format specification for storing images

Oops. Windows crasheded when I tried to open files explorer...
Anyway, I navigated to that folder and it doesn't contain very large files. I did check out the largest ones and they were images that have been shown at start-up. *shrugs* I was really rather hoping to find a huge pile of stuff I culd just delete and free up space, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
