Brief: Enough of Hobbits, it's time to take our mind off of the cold snowy weather and paint... Yetis. 

Deadline: Midnight on the 31st of December. Voting will then be organised some time in the new year when one of us wakes up and deals with it (be prepared for us to forget).

This thread is where you post your WIPs (work in progress), final entries should be posted over here: cgartnexus.com/index.php/forums/current-...1-yeti-final-entries


Challenge rules and guidelines:

Rules in brief:
- All challenge entries must be your own work.
- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
- No chatter in the finals thread – if you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
- Deadline is given in UK time (midnight UTC) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
- Each member may cast one vote.
- No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.

And here's what's happened today.
I've modelled and textured some proper eyes...

 

And I've put in a basic skeleton so he can be posed...

 

Yes, the hands aren't rigged yet and the horns need a bit of weightpainting which is why they've disappeared in this pic but we're getting there. :)

I hadn't intended to take part in this one... but I started mucking about in Zbrush so  . I'm not sure about his proportions right now, and no matter how large I make his hands, they always look too small. Maybe he just needs more hands

Maybe they just need to be "heftier" - with thicker fingers etc? They don't look small to me, but fairly slender compared to the muscular arms. And I guess this one's really about the posing stage, but with that short neck I'd expect his whole torso to be a bit hunched over... and with that would probably follow bent knees, as well. But it's probably too early to comment on thos bits anyway. :dry:
