I tried the Callisto protocol for a bit yesterday but I'm not sure I liked it much from what little I saw. I didn't really care for the over the shoulder view of Jacob or whatshisname and the way he skulked about as if he was sneaking even before any trouble, on his own ship... I probably should have taken the time to go through the tutorials as well, because I was a bit lost. Subtitles would have been nice instead of cranking the sound level up to hear them talk... Will have to look for such a setting next time. At one point the task flashed by to go back to the cockpit but once there I got no further info on what to do and couldn't interact with anything, so I went to one of the bedrooms, opened a locker and got some sort of info window I couldn't close again for the life of me... So I just alt-tabbed out and closed the window

Where are we gonna put the "special things" now?

I don't think I'm that far into the story.

Just had my first taste of...

...and was given the choice of putting them on my ship or at an outpost and I don't have any outposts.
I've completely ignored the "outpost" part of the game. Well, not completely. I did plant the initial thingumie on a planet somewhere but then realised that I'd need loads of resources to actually build anything and all my resources were back in the infinite box in my bedroom a million miles away and if they think I'm shipping all those resources to random planets for outposts then they're wrong.
So... no outposts.

Just cleaning up the city streets...
 

...but if they think I'm gonna pick up a hundred cans for an achievement then they're mistaken.

I've also discovered some alternate controls in the settings and they're a little bit better. Now the left stick only does forward/reverse (and it's linked to the vehicle direction rather than camera direction) and the right stick does the steering. It feels a bit more orthodox this way but it's still a bit awkward.

Oh, and now it's crashed. The game not the vehicle.
I'll have to reload and get lung damage all over again.
