Well that was all very shooty.
And deady.
And try-againy.



Not to mention weird.
Perhaps this email I've just got will explain things for me...

He's gonna have to wait for that pizza.

Back in ancient Egypt now. I'm sneaking into a fort with many, many guards.
I've found the secret underground entrance. I've crept through carrying a torch. Killed the crocodile. And I'm in.
Hiding in the long grass I scan the area with Senu and work out a plan to systematically take out the guards one by one before rescuing the hostages.
I'll start with this guy right here.
I whistle from the long grass.
Curious, he comes closer to investigate.
Closer now.
Almost within range.
Press Y to Assassinate.
I jump out of the grass and...
He's apparently the big boss of this place and can't be assassinated with one strike.
He has a quadruple health bar and a massive blunt weapon that knocks me down.
ALL of the many, many guards notice what's happening and join in.
Several head straight for the heavy ballistas to take aim.
One lights the beacon and even more reinforcements are on their way.
I still haven't got up from the first blow.
And now the lions are let loose too.

Well... that went slightly worse than expected.
We can't be good at sneaking all the time.

Just got killed by an undead Warlord after I shouted him too close to the Word Wall. Then as I went in for another axe attack the screen went blurry and dark as I learned the Word Of Power that was shining at me mid-fight.
But I can't see the baddie anymore!
Oh, wait. There he is standing over my dead body now that the screen has returned to normal.

Reload then.
At least it'll give me a chance to do it without accidentally killing that treasure hunting girl.

...Bonus Update.

After getting rid of Mjoll (mainly cos she kept attacking Arissa) and after being disappointed that the Solitude Housecarl was another female follower I thought I'd install a male follower mod and see how that goes.
Nelthas Dareathys, he's called. I met him at the place he was supposed to be and asked him to tag along. Checked his inventory and saw he seemed to only have daggers so I gave him one of my Chain Lightning staffs.
And off we go. It's not long before I see a couple of spiders on the path so I kill one and leave the other to see how this new guy behaves in a fight...

 

He's attacking Arissa.
Just like Mjoll.

It now dawns on me that I may have unfairly slandered Mjoll and that her apparent psychopathic tendencies were a result of that Chain Lightning staff and the way that it seems to hit anyone and everyone who is in the way, thereby making the entire party somewhat belligerent.

You know what, mate, I think I'll have that staff back if you don't mind.

I almost only have house decorating chores left on Solstheim, but I do also have a skull that should be returned to it's body so that I don't have to carry it in my inventory indefinitely. That said, I've played Subnautica the last couple of days. I found myself missing the shallows. Again. It's funny how I don't care for creative mode seeing as I don't care much to "unravel the mystery" once again... It's the base building I enjoy, after all.

Btw,, does either of you understand why people upload their finished bases to NexusMods? Or rather, why would anyone want to download someone else's almost finished game?

There are many mods that I don't understand.
I've seen some that are nothing more than savegame files from the end without any customisation at all.
I guess that's the easiest Easy Mode of them all.

I guess maybe they're for the kind of people who wants to know how the book ends before they read it?
