Gaming

I put down a bench, some ferns and some other autumn coloured bush to get a bit more than ash colours in my garden. Considering hanging lanterns from the mushrooms too, but not sure yet. So I went back inside, to be met by.... a mannequin head floating above the stairs. I also checked what I suspected yesterday but forgot to check - the red sword was gone!

Well, a reload got rid of the floating head and after some looking around with collision turned off, I found the sword somewhere above the ceiling. All's well, that ends well, as the old pear once said.

It's probably next to my Dibella Statue. Wherever that is.

And as part of my ongoing effort to play as many games as possible at the same time I have now installed Alien Isolation.

Congratulations, you have almost reached the end... of the first room.

Trickiest thing so far is reading the instructions/tips before they (quickly!) disappear. Hopefully they'll pop up again later during a loading screen.

Val's games.... one for getting dressed, one for peeing, one for walking.... it all seems rather basic, to me

Imagine being able to do all of those things in one single game

Well, you've got me. I do a lot more cleaning and decorating in games than I do in real life

At least you made it past the hardest part of the game which is the bug I encountered the first time I played it that prevents the crew briefing from taking place at the beginning. Samuels gets stuck and doesn't turn up on the bridge, so the briefing wont start which soft locks the game and means you have to restart.

He was probably too busy running round Victorian London in Vampyr.
Every time he talks to me I keep expecting him to go through his catchphrases from that game.
 "It's locked from the other side."
 "I cannot open it."
And the classic, "I can't believe I'm doing this!" while munching on a rat.

But back in this game... I really like the presentation with the 20th Century Fox opening, the CRT displays with the flickering scanlines and the old fashioned clunks of the interface. It feels like you're right back in the movie.
