I've been side tracked from my Founder's Fortune endeavours and am now playing House Flipper again. Before I last stopped playing, I had bought the haunted house and made the basement into a bunker, albeit one with a place for entertaining guests (kitchenette/minibar) and guestroom, as well as everyday laundry utilities in the bathroom. But does the game recognise it as a bunker? No. It is listed as having a bunker because it came with the bunker DLC but it's not a bunker. *sigh*

I also tried to make a "kid's room" but according to the online guides (which basically seem to have ripped each other off) a kid's room mustn't be larger than 144 squares but should be no smaller than 12*12 squares. So, in other words, a kid's room should be exactly 12*12 squares. Which seems a stupid restriction and I sincerely doubt it's entirely correct. (That said, a whole bunch of toys and all the other stuff they claim should be in a kid's room was not enough to make it a kid's room... I guess it's possible it shouldn't be larger than 12*12...)

I also found that I could now afford the castle, so I bought it. But I'm a little under whelmed with both the creep factor and the size... I don't think it's particularly easy to change the layout (unless you can demolish the walls around the courtyard, but I doubt it) and it's always twilight which means you need a flashlight to see stuff, most of the time. Until you have enough lamps anyway. Oh and there's a wolf howling every now and then. And that is a bit creepy....

Lock the kids in the bunker and make a 12x12 pet room for the wolf!

I just have to capture the wolf first. Or werewolf. Not really sure which kind it is...

I have now mapped out the floor plans of the castle and I'll be darned like a sock if I know how to work with it... There's a big bedroom in the basement, but that's not where I want to have bedrooms. But upstairs there's basically no room anywhere. It's all open spaces, long corridors and small stand-alone rooms. (Some of the walls can be removed/rebuilt but not exterior walls and this place is almost entirely exterior walls due to encircling a courtyard.)

House flipper has 84 wall paints to choose from and I dislike almost all of them.

It's a shame it can't be easily modded (basically you can only add mods/items through the steam workshop). Whoever designed the game might be good at making games but they have terrible taste. I don't like the paints, the wall papers, the patterns...

I wish that sniper would stop shooting out my tyres while I'm trying to win a race.

 

It's very demoralising seeing all the other competitors disappear over the horizon while I'm manically spinning around on bare wheel hubs.

Maybe you should take out the sniper before you join the race...?

I would if I had the ammo.
I think Max may be Mad due to the scarcity of resources. Quite a lot of the gameplay involves scavenging for scrap, ammo, water and food. I even gave in and ate some maggots from a dead body the other day even though I previously said I wouldn't.
