Definitely thinking of this one.
I think I recall Obduction, too, though. I didn't care much for that either, did I? Was that the Myst type one in some sort of desert mining place?

I can't even remember doing that. I just remember not liking the graphics. And I did a site search and found our old conversation about it - where I said exactly that. And that I died while observing something. 
(I also found that yes, Val got it "in case he'd upgrade his computer sometime" and you were thinking about getting it but hadn't

I've just gone to claim the Epic freebies (not really my kind of games but I'll claim them anyway) and it gave me a load of Captchas that I failed five times.
