Yes there is. The amount of bricks (and their shapes etc). Unless you buy loads of those little packages. And like you just said, they're expensive.

You could use the Lego builder app and you don't need to buy bricks

I guess that wouldn't require a room for the "work" either... But it doesn't seem as much fun.

Not as much fun as running around in Lego Star Wars and smashing stuff up with a lightsaber 

You can also use Geometry Nodes to turn your Blender models into something that looks like Lego but I've never tried to follow one of those tutorials so I don't know how tricky it is.

You can build houses in Blender without lego so I'm not sure what the point would be... And I'd rather run around in a more realistic Star Wars setting, waving around a more realistic light saber. So there.
