Of course, when presented with a big selection, I can never just play one game.

I had a go on that Clair Obscur thing that absolutely everyone is raving about at the moment...

 

...I wasn't really sure it would be my kind of thing, mainly because of... turn-based combat!!

 

The tutorials were not entirely successful.
In fact the one after this where you had to dodge took far, far too long to get right.
I think I just got lucky rather than actually learning anything.
But the visual style is stunning and it's very pretty indeed...

 

...even if there were a lot of cut scenes during that loooong prologue.

I'll continue and see how it goes but I fear I'll struggle when I encounter a proper fight.

I also continued with some terrible attempts at turn based combat in that other game.
I had a rematch of that tutorial battle in the previous screenshot and this time got absolutely slaughtered by that girl. Then after more cut scenes I got to the "proper" part of the game and had to fight some actual baddies and... I sort beat one but I really don't know what I'm doing.
Throughout the fight, the cluttered UI keeps giving me pop-up windows of information explaining the rules and mechanics of the combat but it all seems to be going over my head.

I took a look at creative and custom mode for planet crafter. I've been thinking the replayability is so-so, since you always land in the same spot but... you can choose where to land or land in a random spot!

And randomize ores too. I got uranium all over the place. Probably not healthy. Anyway, was planning to just try out some base building layouts but I got bored again too fast. I did notice a few things I never unlocked in the previous games, though... Will have to look harder for those, when that moon update comes out.

Get creative!

Meanwhile I think I've got another fight coming up.

And I successfully did a parry!
And a perfect dodge!
But I'm sure it's more luck than skill at the moment cos I still don't know what half of this stuff means that pops up on screen. Also I keep finding glowing things and the floaty woman keeps saying they might be useful but I don't know what for.
And now I've reached one of those savepoints that give you access to a skill tree that I also don't understand...

 

I'm gonna have to start googling before I start wasting points. I've already previously wasted something (a "token"?) by accidentally acquiring an extra unwanted hairstyle for the bloke.

Hmm, should I restart and do all those prologue things I didn't know about?
