After watching the second Dune movie (which I enjoyed more than the first, mainly because it built towards something and ended rather than just arbitrarily stopping) this week I have followed that up by watching that Dune Prophecy show and it's... sort of OK. :S
It was interesting at the start but after a flashback episode in the middle it seemed to lose a bit of momentum and I did find myself falling asleep more and more. I'm currently rewatching the final episode just in case I missed something that was really good but I don't think I did.

Also I continue to not understand the acting career of Travis Fimmel. He must have a good agent.

I'm now halfway through the second season of Lidia Poet and I'm enjoying everything except the choice of music. :S

Why are people always complete idiots on TV? I've been watching "Missing You" and I'm on the last episode and for the most part it's been good, though I'd really like to see the main character a bit less teary eyed. Anyway, someone who's in trouble and knows a relative is in trouble manages to get to a phone. First call goes to the relative - fine, I get that. But during the call she HEARS HIM get into trouble too, and what does she do? She keeps trying to call his phone until she's caught. Idiot. She could have just called the police and left the phone off the hook and hoped they'd at least track the call. Something to actually get help for them BOTH. Grrr.

Edit:
*watches 1 more second*
OK that took a turn...

Now started to watch Bodkin. Executive Producers Barack & Michelle Obama

Now why do those names sound so familiar? :hmm:

I liked Bodkin, although I think it falls apart a little at the end. It has some pretty good title sequences too.

The other show I just watched, Missing You, I guess "fall apart" wouldn't be the right term, but once again I wasn't crazy about how it ended. We did find out the truth but then they left it open as to what the characters actually did with it. Not so open that one couldn't guess that basically they'd choose to "live with it". And I do take issue with shows where one or more police officers do stuff they're not allowed to and then just sweep it under the carpet at the end. I think there should be consequences, for perps and cops alike... But at least in this show it didn't feel like they did it so they could have a season 2. That other one I saw before this.... whatever it was called.... :hmm: No, not Ellis, must have been before that too.... :hmm: Ember Manning? Right, "The Jetty". She did some wrong stuff and it felt like they let it go so she could have a second season... (and googling tells me there is indeed talk about a season 2)

I'm still annoyed that they've turned my favourite story from the books into the kind of pointy-chin cartoons that I don't like. :pout:

I've finished Bodkin and I thought I had added something else to my watch list but now I can't find it :dumb:

Anyway, mostly enjoyed Bodkin though it was realllllly hard to like Dove. And everyone else. But I guess it was a fair bit about none of us being perfect... I'm not sure I felt it fell apart, but I also kind of felt like "all the secrets" turned out to mostly not be that important to keep secret and anything that might have done well to be forgotten was revealed by one or other of the team...
At least it seemed like everyone learned something from it all. Which is saying a lot compared to most things I've watched lately.

I'm inbetween shows after finishing Lidia Poet so I watched Arrival again last night and snoozed over the ending so had to rewind.
Netflix seems to be encouraging me to watch Vikings so they obviously haven't read my previous comment about Travis Fimmel.
I think I have seen the first season of that from when it was on normal telly so I may give in and watch the rest. But not yet. :nope:
