Why are they all so young? Don't you need an education before going into space?

I've started watching Frankie Drake mysteries. As usual I'm kind of slow to decide what I really think. It feels a bit like Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries in the way that Frankie is a young attractive woman who knows it, and who doesn't really care about convention. It takes place in Toronto, like Murdoch Mysteries, but somewhat later, the 20ies or so, I think. With speak-easies and such.

I like it well enough to watch, but I always find it hard to relate to characters that just have no self doubt whatsoever. She looks smug almost all the time. She's also "friends" (the usual "get on each others nerves but obviously mutually attracted as well" relationship) with Ernest Hemingway and has been on a dig in Egypt with Howard Carter and apparently she was something of a spy during the war, and her father was a thief (and her mother too). She just seems to be a bit too many things.

Will probably keep watching anyway, though. And her three friends who help her solve mysteries are more likeable and relatable. She has a partner in the business who's also very pretty and seemingly aware but still seems more down to earth (and also has to deal with a bit of racism since she's black), one older and rather chumpy woman who conveniently works in the mortuary and a rather insecure young thing who says she works in vice but I'm not sure if she's an actual police or just a secretary or something. Either way she keeps bringing inside Police info to Frankie.

Godzilla-1=Sleep?

Well, I guess I'll find out later.

I almost made it to the end. Almost.
I just started to fade away during the final 15 minutes and even after rewinding I could not manage to stay conscious.

I'll try and watch the last half hour tonight.
From the bits I saw it was quite enjoyable, especially the tense moments just before the monster arrived but I found that when it did appear it was rather inconsistent. Sometimes it looked great, other times it seemed very silly. I think it was more to do with its design rather than technical issues. There were times when it looked like a brilliant CGI recreation of... a man in a monster suit.

Why is it called "-1"?

Maybe it was explained while I was asleep.

It's reference to the fact that Japan was reduced to it's lowest point (zero) at the end of WWII, then Godzilla comes along and wrecks it even further.
