I'm now half way through Ripley and no aliens are involved.
Not that Ripley, obviously.

I'm finding it better than the movie due to the lack of Matt Damon but the early episodes were unnecessarily slow and repetitive. Thankfully the tension in the subsequent episodes makes up for that.
But the real star of the show is the cat in the apartment.

I'd happily watch a whole series about that cat as it observes murderers in a stylish, aloof way.

Swedish "slow TV for kids" is apparently going to be featuring a cat. That particular cat also made a lot of money for some fund raiser or other... I think it has a blog or something.
Maybe you'd like that show

After getting killed rather too quickly, twice, I decided to give up Skyrim/Bruma for today and watch some TV. Started watching Vienna Blood, which of course is a crime show, one inspector aided by a doctor who I guess is kind of Sherlock and Watson in one. He's a student of Sigmund Freud, apparently.

Anyway it turns out the episodes are rather long, and it's now bedtime so while it seems OK, I'll have to save the rest of the first episode for tomorrow. (Premise is a dead woman in a locked room, seemingly suicide, but there's no murder weapon and no bullet, even though she died of a gun shot and the bullet did not exit her body.)

I too occasionally watch Vienna Blood when I have the time (and the open-eyed consciousness) to fit the 90 minute episodes in. I'm on the middle one of season two.

But tonight I'll be finishing off Ripley. Sadly the cat doesn't seem to feature as much as in earlier episodes.

Yes, but what happened before that? 

A pre-prequel.
