Time in TV series is a very strange thing. The other day/episode this lawyer had three months left to get his license back (originally 6 months) and meanwhile, I think a pregnancy progressed by about twice that time (that is, 6 months in the three months...) Not that I recall exactly when she became pregnant. I swear she wasn't showing a belly at the beginning of one episode, then she had a bump right at the end of it, and then she's been looking 6 months pregnant for several episodes. Maybe the lawyer fella was just slow to catch up...

Other things I find "strange" in the Rookie. In the first season they make a big deal about how cops never leave the car unlocked - but in later seasons they run off from their car leaving them wide open or with the windows down. They just said - over the radio - that they should keep their distance from a bomb because some triggers go off from radio waves.... so they pulled further away... but wouldn't the bomb have gone off already if they were too close? And an episode or two back, a guy got shot at in his car but I could swear when we saw his car later the windows were all rolled up and undamaged... :hmm:

Edit: Oh and the pregnant woman looked like she was gonna give birth to triplets by the end of the pregnancy but some bad guys knew she knew they were bad and invaded her house during the home birth so she like shot one of them and gave birth at the same time. Seems to take about 5 minutes. All without any blood, goop, afterbirth or umbilical cords in sight. I guess the wounded criminal helped get her dressed again afterwards and to clean up and wrap the baby in a blanket. :dumb: (She's one bad ass woman.)

I'm beginning to think this Rookie thing is just made up fiction.

I kept my hat and scarf on last night and watched Liam Neeson trying to be Marlowe. It wasn't terrible but it had none of the wit and style of the old Bogart movies and ended up feeling a bit pointless.
Sleep did happen at some point. :aha:

I got around to watching that CGI version of The Lion King the other day and found it to be not as good as The Jungle Book rehash (which I continue to like every time I see it.) There didn't seem to be enough of the charm and style and some of the movement felt a bit too "animated" as if they were trying too hard to evoke the feeling of the original film.

 Oh no! I was just going to enjoy another episode of the Rookie when I remembered that I watched the last one* yesterday! :argh: Now what am I going to watch???

*Sixth season will air any day (February maybe?) in the US but I've no idea when it might come to Netflix here in Europe.

Must watch things more slowly. :stare:

I've just been through Mayfair Witches, one of those Anne Rice things, and... it wasn't that good. :nope:

I kind of fell for the Interview with a vampire hype back in the day, read one or two more of her books but never got into them, really.

And I ended up watching the first episode of Fool me Once.

Also, I'm not sure how one can watch TV any slower than with a cat interrupting every five minutes by threatening to tear down the wall paper, or something, if he doesn't get attention... :dumb:
(Maybe by sleeping through the middle of everything and therefore needing to watch everything twice? :hmm: ;) )

I think I mentioned before on here that my experience with Interview With The Vampire was a bit odd. For years I thought I hated the movie and then decided to watch it again to see if I'd changed my mind only to realise that I'd never actually seen it before. Perhaps I'd decided that I wouldn't like it cos Brad Pitt was in it and that there was therefore no reason to watch it. :dumb:
But now I don't think it's too bad. I also watched the recent TV version but that wasn't as interesting. It didn't seem to have the theatrical scale and the actors didn't project the same kind of charisma or ego.

The Mayfair Witches thing ended up being kind of cheesy, after a dreadful start, and at times it reminded me of that (in)famous Star Trek episode where Doctor Crusher falls in love with her dead grandmother's immortal ghost/vampire/alien/spirit lover on "The Scottish Planet".
Whenever a certain necklace appeared in this show I kept imagining that guy repeatedly saying "Dinnae light that candle!"
Strangely enough I don't hate that episode as much as the rest of The Internet does. :)
