I started watching "Spooks". Currently being annoyed that my subtitles are translating the codename Osprey as Eagle. I guess they didn't think fiskgjuse sounded cool enough...

Edit: I wonder how accurate these spy shows are. It all seems kind of silly with all the codenames and switching followers and such although I do understand how it'd make them harder to spot... Still. Kind of silly.

I think I only ever watched the first few episodes of Spooks when it was first shown on tv. I've often thought of trying again but never got round to it.

I've been getting through a few movies for my final free Disney+ days and last night I rewatched I Robot and got annoyed again at Will Smith strutting around with his hat over one ear while telling jokes as if he's in a sitcom. :eyeroll:

I can't remember anything from that movie except what the robots looked like...

The other day when I watched a move it was The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum (and Brad Pitt, Daniel Radcliffe and also numerous others I don't know the names of :aha: ). I don't generally care for romantic comedies, but I do like Sandra Bullock and she does romantic comedies... So I guess I like those comedies when she's in them. I did like Romancing the Stone or whatsit (the one with Douglas something - Michael Douglas? - and Kathleen Turner) but I think it was more the comedy (edit: and the adventure!) and less the romance in that one. Anyway, there were quite a few bits in the Lost City that reminded me of the Stone one.

Also kind of cool that they opted for a leading lady that's around 15 years older than the leading man. Women in Hollywood often complain that they run out of parts to play as they age... Not that the age difference is noticeable in the movie.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone make a series adapting Azimov's book and it's follow up, rather than a film that just took the title and some character names and stuck them on a random science fiction film just to keep the rights.

Azimov's books are not the easiest things to adapt due to his love of vaguely connected short stories. Like a lot of Sci-fi authors of that era he seemed more interested in ideas than narrative and characters. The Foundation series (the tv show, I mean) is a bit of a confused mess for these reasons.

We need decent film versions of The Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun, and The Robots of Dawn

Well, I recommend you try the books I mentioned (well, the first two, I haven't read the other one as far as I can recall). They are detective mysteries. The android character was a large inspiration for the Data character in Star Trek TNG... but don't let that put you off
