Well in order to remember the "scientific explanation" I had to pause immediately and come here to write it down.... So I was a few minutes in...

Well I finished The Mandalorian last night and enjoyed it very much. The only minor gripes were the lack of the original music. For the most part the new soundtrack worked well and I did like to sing along when the theme reached the big crescendo.
But there were a couple of scenes when I really needed to hear The Force theme and its absence just felt wrong. I even resorted to playing it myself on my piano app.

Also (and I'll be careful with spoilers here) the final special effect reveal wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped. It probably wouldn't have been noticeable if it wasn't for the rest of the VFX being so good and it certainly didn't affect my overall enjoyment.

Anyway, with that done I'm now watching the movie Shang-Chi and his magic rings of some kind.

I'm still wondering why the stolen com badges didn't cause a pair of thieves to be beamed into the future automatically, stranding the away team in 2024 forever. (The away team had to deactivate their badges to avoid being beamed out before everyone was accounted for... but I'm pretty sure the thieves didn't even know how to deactivate the badges since they didn't know what they were...)

Also, I re-watched the first Witcher episode last night. It made a lot more sense to me now that I've seen two whole seasons...

You're now going into more detail than I can remember about that DS9 episode.
I think I'll be starting season 2 of The Witcher tonight.
I did enjoy the first season even more on the second rewatch but I do think that first episode was the best one. I think his chemistry with Renfri was fantastic and I was sad they killed her off so quickly.

After liking Black Widow the other week, Shang-Chi was a return to my usual Marvel indifference. It was a bit of a mess really. Sometimes it was a mystical fantasy, sometimes it was an epic historical myth, sometimes it was a family story and other times it was a zany comedy. And it switched moods so much that it ended up being none of those things.
