The foot notes are all in the Tarantino chapter.

Meanwhile in last night's episode there was one real lens flare! And at least seven fake ones.
And I got quite excited at spotting The Observer in the background long before he was introduced.

Deadwater Fell with David Tennant (and a Swedish title which pretty much gives away all suspense - but either way I didn't find it very suspenseful in spite of what the Swedish critics said. Still a good series, though.)
and Manhunt with Martin Clunes. Based on a real story and the memoirs of the main character (a police detective capturing a serial killer)
and on Netflix I have been watching Alias Grace, but I'm only half-way through that. I rather like it - if you don't know of it, it's about a young woman sentenced for murder 15 years ago and now questions by a doctor (shrink) about her life and so on, in order to understand her and what happened and whether she should be released from prison. Most of it is her telling her life's story, but there's always that "is she telling the truth or not?" aspect to it. She does seem to present herself as a very god-fearing, good and proper girl...
