This morning I sneaked into the kitchen like some kind of tactical assault commando. 
Stealth mode on. Door opened slowly and securely. Go, go, go. Now stay low and take cover by the cooker.
Carefully now... raise the head and scan the far wall...
No visible spider!
And don't come back!

This is not how these things work. Once one has seen a... one of those, one is required to remain awake and in constant alert mode until one has confirmed with physical evidence that the... one of them, has been dispatched. If this means you remain awake and motionless in the middle of a room for several days, then so be it.If I can't see it I don't care.

I have those dreams sometimes, when I first see one big black spider. Usually dead. But then I see more and more and live ones and larger and larger until there's spiders everywhere. I hate those dreams. I have them with snakes, too, sometimes. But mostly sp... them.
