Now why are the flowers in different positions in the final render?
I'd specifically positioned the camera and gnomes in order to see certain groups of flowers but once I hit F12 it seems to use a different "random" seed and arranges them differently.
I'm glad I didn't save the render for the final day.

 I need to do something about the line of the leg following the line of the arm.

Maybe he could have something tied around his upper arm, so the leg overlaps it? Some twined grass and feathers or something.

also, if feathers are too large, maybe insect wings? I guess they'd be a tad fragile, though...

I think the size of the feathers is ok considering they are half the length of his leg. Comparing a feather I have against mister anatomy figure, I would say my gnome is pretty much gnome sized.
